ST Case 10 – Guidelines followed
Summary
29 year old G 1 P0 Gest.week 38+4. Gestational diabetes.
- 15:30 Admitted to hospital contracting with mild contractions. Blood sugar levels normal.
- 16:12 VE: Cx fully effaced, 3 cm dilated, vx -2. ARM performed, clear liquor draining and ST analysis initiated.
- 16:50 Oxytocin infusion started.
- 17:42 First ST event. VE: Cx fully effaced, dilated 4 cm, vx -2. Oxytocin infusion stopped due to Abnormal CTG and ST Event. Obsterician decides to perform caesarean section.
- 18:32 Caeserean section. Babygirl born. AS 8,9,10.

Comment
STAN GL followed. The fetus is speeding up its heartrate to compensate the lack of oxygen. After the bradycardia episode you can see the fetus responding with tachycardia.
