CTG Case 7 – Decreasing variability
Summary
28 year old 2 G 1 P. Gest.week 38+0. 2001 C/section for fail to progress. Normal pregnancy.
- 09:10 Admitted to hospital contracting since midnight.
- 09:45 ARM, clear liquor draining. FSE applied. VE: Cx fully effaced, dilated 5 cm, vx -1.
- 10:30 Epidural sited on maternal request.
- 12:00 VE: Cx fully effaced, dilated 8 cm, vx at the spines.
- 14:40 VE: Cx fully dilated, vx +1.
- 16:00 Oxytocin infusion prescribed due to slow progress.
- 16:40 Active pushing started.
- 17:21 SVD. Babygirl. Birthweight 3 720 g. AS 6,8,10.

At 16.15 recurrent late decelerations and no action taken. The variability is disappearing at 16.48 shortly after active pushing started. When preterminal pattern immediate delivery.
