The overall aim of the course is to differentiate between fetal compensation and decompensation to ensure timely and appropriate action.
It is sincerely hoped that by the end of the CTG Masterclass, delegates will be able to recognize features of fetal response to stress on the CTG trace and also to predict the next change on the CTG trace.
The topics covered in the course are:
- Understanding the limitations of current CTG Guidelines
- Paradigm shift from ‘Pattern Recognition’ to understanding fetal physiological responses to intrapartum hypoxic and mechanical stress
- How does a fetus protect his/her brain and the heart from hypoxic insults? Understanding the CTG features suggestive of fetal compensation and decompensation
- CTG patterns in types of hypoxia in labor
- Unusual fetal heart rate patterns
- Case discussions
- Q&A Sessions
