ST Case 13 – Fetal head pressure
Summary
37 year old G3 P2. Gest. week 40+3. Normal pregnancy.
- 01:20 Admitted to hospital contracting since a couple of hours. Patient wants pain relief as soon as possible. VE: Cx fully effaced, 6 cm dilated, vx -1. Bulging membranes.
- 01.45 Using nitrous oxide.
- 02:07 FSE applied. ST Analysis initiated.
- 02:14 Signal quality is not adequate.
- 02:27 FSE reapplied, now good signal quality.
- 02:49 One Biphasic ST Log message in the Event Log.
- 03:30 Active pushing started.
- 03:37 SVD. Baby boy born. AS 10, 10, 10. Birth weight 3 080 g.

Comment
Rapid labour, pressure on the fetal head releases a bradycardia episode just before delivery and triggers one Episodic ST event. Good reactivity when FSE is applied.
